What is DAM

The central place where media files are stored, managed and distributed

Digital media carries more and more of what an organisation communicates. Even so, time goes every day to finding the right file. Time that could be spent smarter. Files sit in several places, in several versions, and nobody quite knows who is using what, whether it is the current version, or whether the rights allow it at all.

A DAM gathers them in one place and attaches metadata: article number, date, photographer, rights, description. From there files can be found by something other than their filename - and passed on to the systems that need them.

Typical file types

  • Product images and packshots
  • Marketing material
  • Video and audio recordings
  • Presentations and PDFs
  • Historical photographs and negatives
  • Drawings and case documentation

The platform

We deliver Fylr

Fylr is one of the most widely used DAM products on the market, and it is the platform we build on. It handles the core: storage, cataloguing, search, rights and distribution. On top of that we add our own modules and the customisation that makes the system fit the way you actually work.

You decide whether the solution runs on your own infrastructure or is operated for you.
Scales with the collection
From a few thousand files to several million, without changing platform.
Open to the rest of the house
API and integrations for the systems you already run.
Rights and GDPR
Control over who sees what, and what may be downloaded.

In-house products

Modules we develop ourselves

Fylr covers the core. We built the rest because customers needed it - portals, synchronisation with file servers and museum systems, scheduled jobs, publishing, and administration of large data sets.

Collections that are already open

A good part of Denmark's digitised cultural heritage is searchable through solutions we have built.

The Danish Railway Museum

Museum · media bankMore than 113,000 files

The Railway Museum’s media bank holds more than 113,000 images, films, audio recordings, drawings and a great deal more from Danish railway history.

The collection view on jernbanekilder.dk, under the Danish Railway Museum's red masthead with its search field. Down the left, a numbered subject hierarchy and filters for operator, railway location and line among others; to the right, a grid of historical black-and-white railway photographs, each labelled with location, description and date.

Louisiana

Art museum · press archivePress images for exhibitions

A press archive where journalists and partners find and download image material for current exhibitions themselves.

The press archive on press.louisiana.dk, holding 222 items. The Louisiana wordmark and a search field sit at the top; down the left, a category list covering current and upcoming exhibitions among others plus a file-format filter, and to the right a grid of press images from the exhibition Tracey Emin – A Second Life.

Bornholmske Billeder

Archive and museum · shared portalA large collection of historical images

Bornholmske Billeder holds a large collection of historical images from both Bornholms Ø-Arkiv and Bornholms Museum, gathered behind one entrance.

The search result on Bornholmske Billeder, holding 214,569 items. Below the yellow masthead with its logo and search field sits a dark filter sidebar whose institution filter covers both Bornholms Museum and Bornholms Ø-Arkiv; to the right, a grid of historical photographs, each with a title and archive number below it.

Shall we take a look at your files?

An informal meeting is usually the fastest way to find out whether a DAM makes sense for you - and what it would take.
